Airlie Beach Music Festival
Airlie Beach Music Festival is set to be the location of one of the best music festivals in Queensland. With 74 Bands and the 74 islands to enjoy it is set to get Airlie Beach rocking like it has never rocked before.
Music will be beaming from 16 different venues around the town with buses running continuously to take you to any venue or artist where your ears want you.
Airlie Beach Race Week
Airlie Beach Race Week is six days of festive sailing and shore activities in the Whitsundays. Yachties from all around Australia and some overseas yachts come to compete in a range of divisions set up to suit top racing yachts, sports boats and cruising yachts.
This year Airlie Beach Race Week includes the Australian Multihull Championships and it is expected to have great racing from these exciting, speedy sail boats. Racing includes some races around buoys laid in Pioneer Bay in front of Airlie Beach and some races out around the beautiful Whitsunday islands.
Many shore-based activities are organised for crew and their families including a big fun day on the lay-day, Tuesday. The Airlie Beach main street, filled with restaurants and retailers, are abuzz for the entire week.
Airlie Beach Running Festival
The inaugural Airlie Beach Running Festival will include the ever popular Half marathon distance (21.1 kilometres) plus 10 kilometres and five kilometre Fun Runs. Airlie Beach is the mainland destination of the Whitsundays with the islands within easy access so you can enjoy more tan just a race in paradise. The course showcases the beautiful coastline of Airlie Beach and surrounds.
The legendary Australian runner Pat Carroll is showing his support and will fly in for the event is the Event Ambassador and Race Caller. If you are looking to escape the southerly winter for a race in warm weather, where you can extend your stay and enjoy the pleasures that the Whitsundays has to offer - this is the race for you.
Bare Foot Bowls - Airlie Beach
Airlie Beach Bowls Club conducts Bare Foot Bowls every Friday evening between 7.30 p.m. and 10.00 p.m. Join in with your team of four or you can be put into a team on the night. No experience is necessary as a coach will be available for beginners. A sausage sizzle will be provided after the game or you can grab an affordable meal from the bistro from 6.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Blessing of the Fleet and People's Day
50 days after Easter, the Whitsunday community is invited to come together to celebrate at the Whitsunday Sailing Club with the Blessing of the Fleet and People's Day. All boats are encouraged to get on the water. There will be music, food, entertainment, stalls and the entire community is invited to the free event.
Great Whitsunday Fun Race
It hasn't been called the 'The Great Whitsunday Fun Race' for nothing. This year Fun Race will be held the day after Airlie Beach Race Week, allowing serious sailors to let their hair down with the locals and enjoy a day of fun.
The race, hosted by the Whitsunday Sailing Club, is a large triangle course in Pioneer Bay, Airlie Beach, but it so much more than a race. It is now part of the day to dress up boats and crews and have a Miss Figurehead on the bow at the finish.
With 10 different divisions, serious racers and casual cruisers can all participate in this fun filled afternoon, and once the race is done, everyone is welcome to enjoy the atmosphere of Airlie Beach.

Join Junior Masterchef winners for cooking classes these school holidays! If you've got a budding Master chef, BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort has plated up the most deliciously exciting news... It's time for Kids in the Kitchen! These June/July school holidays Isabella and Sofia, the original series Junior Master Chef winners, will cook up a storm over five fun days.
So what's on the menu at their tropical paradise? Lashings of kids' culinary inspiration served up with great big dollops of fun and entertainment as the girls run classes twice daily over five days. The sessions are one hour long followed by 30 minutes where Isabella and Sofia will chat and have their photos taken with all the kids. What's not to like?

Latin Fiesta
Get ready to feel the rhythm and come heat up the dancefloor at Club Croc Hotel, Airlie Beach for a Latin Fiesta night! Enjoy the creative combo of the exquisite tastes of a Brazilian-inspired buffet and exhilarating dance moves for the ultimate Latin night in the Whitsundays. There will also be a live performance by Jaime Jesus and Natalia Rakhimov who have come all the way from Latin Dance Australia in Sydney.

Twilight Yacht Racing
The Whitsunday Sailing Club conducts Twilight Yacht Racing every Wednesday between 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. If you would like to become involved in a Whitsunday sailing experience, yachts are often short of crew, just turn up at the Whitsunday Sailing Club at 3.00 p.m. and you will most likely find a crew position, even as a novice. Afterward, crews gather at the club for results, dinner, the video replay and stories of mayhem and mishap.
Whitsunday Reef Festival
The Whitsunday Reef Festival is a four day festival full of fun and largely free entertainment right in the heart of Airlie Beach.
The festival has something for everyone - enjoy starlight movies, the hilarious Comedy Gala and Frocktails Fashion Show. Make a Recyclable Raft and battle it out on the lagoon or create a sand sculpture on the beach. The kids will love the Telstra Family Fun Day for fun and games down on our beautiful foreshore and for the seafarers there is the iconic Great Whitsunday Fun Race from the Sailing Club.
Don't miss their major events - Porters Friday Night Fireworks on the foreshore and the Rotary Street Parade where the whole community comes out in force to celebrate our fantastic north Queensland lifestyle. Live music will be playing and the bar will be open all weekend in central Airlie Beach so come and party Whitsunday style!
Whitsunday Writers Festival
The Whitsunday Writers Festival is a one day creative writing workshop on Friday followed by cocktail party. Saturday is a full day of listening to well known authors and joining in panel discussions followed by dinner on the jetty. Sunday is a half day including lunch. Participants can come just for the day or the full weekend and have intimate conversations with authors and journalists from interstate.
